Is Demon Souls worth the download? I've been thinking about it but not sure.

Absolutely not

i personally loved it. its way better than that mainstream dark souls shit

it's pretty good, but overall I found DaS better, but DeS had a better online system
if you've ever played DaS it's worth trying it
if not be prepared to get your ass kicked many times

its a great game
but put it this way... if you dont like to die a lot dont get it
the game gives u a forwarning of "prepare to die" and the guidebook says "prepare to die less" ...less thats it

After the learning curve, I never died. Granted I was playing offline so I didn't have to worry about invaders.

man my knight had like pumped vita and end my friend was amazed at how big my health and energy bars were then i was showing him how tanky my guy was and i got invaded
i was fuckin him up so bad he resorted to running away for about 5 mins but the funny thing is he couldnt outrun me becasue my stamina was higher + when i caught him i could still swing lol
best feeling ever showing off a character and somebody invades you and you make him run away while somebody is watching haha
e: i raped most ppl but after a while ppl had a good mage build that would kill me like 50% of the time but any melee... they got ran the fuck over
