I never understood the whole toxic problem, you need to get hit with a dart twice to be toxified, and those guys die easy and don't respawn. Nothing poisons me except for the swamp. It isn't even a problem if you get the Tattered set in the swamp, poison did like no damage after that. I beat Quelaag while poisoned the whole time.

grinding in the forest a bit can get you plenty of items to cure poison

poison disappears after a while, it's not so bad lol.
but toxic is worse cause it does more damage

you can get some of the mosses pretty quickly by grinding in the forest. these really help with poison too.

as for next area, it's depth before blight town anyways, but yes, that's the area you head to if you want to progress through the story.
