Most Importantly, Have 2 main saves going on. ( aside from your auto saves ) which you'll save your data every 10-15 mins, rotating from 1 to the other.. helps with glitches.

You'll eventually be introduced to the following:
Forge
Sharpening Stone
Work Bench
Tanning

Enchanting Table ( any items you see with good enchantments, you'll want to disenchant them at the table )
Alchemy Table ( go crazy mixing potions )

Save all the raw materials you find and use them to upgrade your professions.

Turn hide into leather and ore into ingots

------------------

Gather and save so that in between every level you can train your primary skills @ trainers.

------------------

Always carry at least 1 garlic to keep away vamps

------------------

Read every book ( even ones in stores, but dont steal em )

........

any questions?

Wow thanks I'll keep all that in mind and I'll Lyk if I have questions along the way :D

Anyone else able to add some more infos.. maybe it will help me too!

What are you guys going?

Heavy armor or Light?

Swords, axes or maces?

I'm going with one handed weapons right now, weapon in one hand, spell in other until I discover more about later game weapons and armor.

I'm scared to jump into any of the weapon specializations atm because I'm not sure which is better. (Although axe bleed looks cool)

I'm level 10 atm, killed two dragons and finished quests with the companions.

I love the change in magic from Oblivion but it seems to be very weak, sure that will change as it levels. (roughly around 30 destruction atm)

I can't wait to find an alchemy lab, I have about 100 lbs in raw materials.

LOVING ENCHANTING, BLACKSMITHING, and COOKING! (Why didn't they have cooking in the last one???!)
