Supposed to come ou in early 2015, and it will be in the next update (thats what they said). But yeah i lost hope, and with the PC release delayed, they probably gonna use it as an excuse not to release the heists.

wasn't there a small update a few days ago? I didn't look into it but possibly laying the framework for dlcs soon?

Either way I'd rather they take their time and do it right. even if the wait is getting ridiculous.

So I fired up the online mode. Nothing but people trying to kill you. Is there a purpose ( co op mission ) to the online or is it basically just a free for all?

You can host/join missions, races, deathmatches, etc, from the online menu.

On the free roam its basically just free for all. And yeah its nothing but peope trying to kill you.
