nightfalls are level 28 strikes with hard mobs and modifiers to the strike to make it harder like he listed.

epic = more mobs, more health and extra shields on mobs.
angry = mobs never flinch
lightswitch = mobs one shot you with melee basically
arc burn = all arc damage sources are tripled (..?)
nightfall = if your group wipes, you go back to orbit and have to start over
