Those games are different. They're called "adventure"games, but generally feature point and click puzzles (like Myst, but not as deep) and heavy amounts of dialogue and decision making.

kind of like those make a choice shiny holographic goosebump books right?

See, you're just bring pretentious. You keep bringing up cut and paste games but not everyone plays those games. You have to understand that while many gamers have played cod, many have quit buying them.
Winning game of the year doesn't mean everyone will like it.

People play all games for the "experience," boasting this one to be something more is just simply your opinion. It's an indie art game that's pretty much a walking movie video game. Just because people aren't into that, doesn't mean their taste in games are any worse than yours.

Because it feels like the majority of gamers play cut and paste games and couldn't really care for anything else, you said it yourself, they want to be "in the action". Everyone should try something before you start labeling something dull and boring.
I don't even consider them gamers.

Being in the action doesn't always mean cut and paste....how blind can you be?

I don't have much time to game these days. I work 7 days a week, steady long-term girlfriend and my dog. If I'm going to play a game, I want to be entertained. I've played games all my life, it doesn't make me any less of a gamer because I don't want to wander around environments completing absolutely nothing.

Journey has a very specific target audience that's not a majority....that's the realism behind it.

And what is your perspective on completing or accomplishing something in a video game? And this fully proves you have never played the game and know slight details about it, that's about all.

What does your personal life or preference have anything to do with anything?
You are trying to put a negative connotation on the game. Why can't you just admit you don't like or want to play a good game and move on with your day? What you do for a living your dogs name is irrelevant.

/edit
Or better yet just admit that you don't know whether s game is good or not because you have no idea. What a concept?

Im pretty sure it was evident from the start of this conversation that I have never played the game. Videos were satisfactory enough for me to get the gist of the game.

Personal life has everything to do with what you do with your spare time........

Maybe I'll word it a different way. As I've grown older, and have had less time to play games, I have been more selective about what I play.

My comment still stands and supportive that this game has a small target audience and would be considered boring to a lot of people.

Sure but has nothing to do with the game. The game having a target audience is not the part I take issue with, its the part that you want to play a game that is entertaining because of your personal life, and journey is not.
