are ur monitors 1080p? maybe its running 720p? and filling the excess space with the "balck border"?

then maybe ur ps3 is in like 480p ?
ivwe never had what your experiencing and ive played on 2 different tvs+ my monitor

which ps3 is it? 1st gen(Fatboy) 2nd gen(slim) or 3rd gen(plastic slide door on top)

its the slim, i bought it early 2012 right when MLB 12 came out.

You can change your TV settings on your ps3 in your system settings and in safe mode
Edit: where the hell is yaksha and ROM, these guys are pros with this shit

shut it down, keep monitor on, make sure its on its HD mode, press and hold the power button on the ps3 till it double beeps then release

The ps3 is fine. I hard reset it and works fine now. I just gotta figure out how to get rid of this black border
