Whats everyone's thoughts here about the PS VR device.

Looks wicked but is it just another gimmick.

I'll wait until the technology is more mainstream and it costs next to nothing to buy, costs more than my ps4 cost me at first release.

My buddy at work pre ordered the orift one for like $1200 Canadian

It will need some years for its full potential

It's not a gimmick
Technology advances almost daily
VR wether it catches on right away or not, is the wave of the future

I think VR is going to be revolutionary in like 5 years, needs more support, stronger hardware to run it, better specs, etc.

I don't think its just another gimick (at least for pc, I don't think it will get much support on ps4 due to hardware restrictions)

I think cost is going to hurt it for the vast majority of consumers. Early reports say it's pretty polished and quite well developed. I'm hoping the reviewers that go to PAX and then eventually E3 have some good things to say about it.

As it stands I can only say I'm not too hyped about the standard game reveals I've seen for the headset. I hope some triple A developer is jumping on board and will release something absolutely kick ass for the platform but my hopes aren't high. They have a tendency not to be the ones to take the risk despite being the ones that could easily control whether or not the VR sells.
