You must not have played back then if your trying to argue that felwinters wasn't the king of shotguns.

Felwinter's damage was nerfed when the taken king came out, before it had higher impact than any other shotgun in the game

After it got nerfed to the same damage as matador, it just made matador better because matador had better other stats

Gotcha. Was Matador not around or what? Wasn't much of a PvPer during these times, unfortunately.

I'm aware it was a very strong shotgun, not trying to suggest it wasn't. Basically I just looked at both shotguns in the database and both looked like they're on-par with one another between impact/range caps.
Did not play PvP seriously really until some time after TTK, you're right that I didn't play during it's prime. But if Felwinters was in a higher impact archetype, the databases are not showing it for some reason.

e/ Last time I call a weapon king of it's weapon type lol.

In everyone's opinion what has been the most overpowered weapon ever in the crucible? I'm thinking when vex was op it was probably the most op weapon around before they nerfed it. Thorn lasted longer but vex when the game was still very fresh there wasn't much you could do to compete against it back then.

the original last word for me, with the ads bonus dmg on headshots, that ttk was ridiculous... and it could also hit targets across the map, its the reason i didnt use a shotgun for pretty much all of year 1

i do remember getting lit the fuck up everytime i saw some with a vex in the crucible during vanilla though, i feel like part of the reason for that is because everyone was rocking auto rifles back then and vex was basically an auto rifle with a much faster ttk and a bit less range

Yeah last word/thorn lasted longest but some weapons were definitely op for short period of times like pocket infinity was pretty beast back in the day but it didn't last obviously.

Umm for snipers we ran two pulses and went outside every time and just primaries them down since getting a shot off with the added flinch seems much more difficult and for shotgunners it was also playing outside and letting them push since most shotgunners favor cafe which doesn't help them at all, back pedaling and fusion honestly saved my ass so many times, I had a lot of success with my range finder rifled barrel saladins, the base stability is so high but I could run max stability on it if needed

oh yeah i forgot about pocket infinity... i might rate that higher than last word and vex lol
