but unless they fix the underlying issues of the game rather than just the lack of new content idk if I'll even buy it

And are now releasing it year 3 for 30$?

I think the 'april update' was the free "dlc" that they were giving out lol

bungie never promised "free" content, they simply said eververse will fund the live team
