Yes these things are much more of a plague to the crucible than any slightly overpowered items ever were, and yet they still remain.

The burn dmg itself was not the issue. It dealt just as much dmg as a skip nade for example. It's how slow it trickled that dmg/health away. It kept you out of the fight for an extra 10+ seconds. It prevented your opponents health regen to kick in. Originally my thought was to speed this dmg trickle up to what it is now so that it allows guardians to get back into the fight quicker. Had they done that I would be fine with the melee change as is. Right now however there's no reward. Running sunsinger is all risk no reward and anyone that says it's a support class as it should've always been is deluding themselves (i actually had someone rant at me on twitch about that).

I've been running sunsinger in pvp, double fusion still works just fine, haven't noticed much change to the melee, solo'd the nightfall with her too with no issue..

I'm talking specifically about firebolts and using them as area of denial. Pve sunsingers work fine all around from what little I tested. Save Viking funeral. It works but to get the best use out of it you need to have a fireteam actively firing on the target in question.

But if the only good thing the class has to offer is double fusion why not just play sunbreaker with the skill that makes grenades charge faster when you have your super lol

cuz radiance is OP when I can spam about 7 fusions for instant kills, but yeah that works too, I suck using sunbreaker, I've been trying to practice it, but to used to striker lol

The burn damage was the issue and always has been. You literally could firebolt someone then shoot them one time and run away because they were going to burn out. Skip nade is easier to avoid and not all of it hits you everytime. Firebolt pretty much auto hit everything in the area.

So make it the absolute weakest grenade of every class is now the answer? It hits for 99 damage with burn... If you can get a hit at all in the first place.

I'm really not here to argue about this. Me ranting isn't going to change bungies mind nor yours or anyone's for that matter. Bottom line is while I agree a change needed to be made I think the change that was made is utter fucking bullshit and quite literally the definition of a knee jerk reaction. This is along the same lines as sunbreaker nerfs and what they keep trying to do to blade dancer. I'll leave it at that.

On a completely different note Blind Watch is a terrible trials map. Lol

Look what they did to nightstalker. Has the worst grenades in the game and its melee was the smoke which they now made useless. Sunsingers still have fusions and the firebolt isn't as strong as it used to be but its still better then nightstalker grenades. What made nightstalker grenades good was pairing it with the smoke. Bungie has done this from the start of the game and keep making drastic changes and listening way to much to the community when 90% suck at pvp. I never understood why they never hit up the top streamers like triplewreck who they flew to bungies hq and other streamers who mainly did pvp and ask them what they think should be changed and let them beta test instead of them making changes that shouldn't have happened to begin with. They just listen to the community to much which is all salty kids which keeps making this game worse and worse.
