i use mask of mother
15% hp is nice

paired with ring of favor and protection its even more awesome.
it puts me at 1347 hp with 31 points into vit, its pretty nice.

nito hasnt dropped mask of the mother for me yet, ive gotten 2 masks of the child =/

and if you dont kill patches and talk to him after each time he does something to you, he sells all 3 masks at firelink

oh thats right, i dont really pay attention to the bosses names for some reason.

is a gravelord+5 with 30 str/30 dex pretty strong?
im trying to figure out what weapon i want to use for this new character.

i used gravelord until halfway through ng+ (when i got the dark sword)

it was like 397 damage at the stats you need to wield it

glass crest shield is great, unless you are able to use the child helm, then a silver knight shield is better for a low str build.

otherwise i guess you can use the green blossoms for areas where you really need it.. idk. i just use glass crest cause i wear the crown that gives spell damage.
