But 3ds doesn't require an expensive proprietary memory card

That being said I absolutely agree more people just need to give it a chance and stop looking at sales figures
Sales means f all to using anything
Well sales do mean less 3rd party support, altough the vita hasn't been doing too bad in that regard (mainly indies but still nice games)
That said the Vita looks like a great console, tearaway looks very interesting for one

sales? that's your ace in the hole? lol you guys really do crack me up when you speak of sales
1: you don't work for the company and you certainly arent making any commission by bringing sales to the table
you talk of one companies success like you gain from it, its kind of sad lol
back on track..
try to understand that the 3ds came out light years before the vita
that the 3ds has been on the market way longer
that due to its earlier release it should obviously have more sales
and due to its cheaper price tag its more affordable / cost effective for consumers
and since Nintendo is in the market for young children and that Moms and Dads everywhere would prefer their children playing Mario brothers vs call of duty its obvious Mom and Pop are going to buy little 7year old Timmay a 50$ 3ds with Kirby instead of a 200$+ vita with black ops declassified
Talking about sales is relevant if you want to take long term 3rd party support into account (sony isn't exacly releasing tons of games for it so they need their 3rd parties)
The 3ds has been on the market for roughly 10 months more than the vita (so 3ds has been out for almost exactly 3 years, and the vita for a bit more than 2) Yet the 3ds sales are around 44mil. while the vita sits at 7.3 mil.
As it's been mentionned before the price for the 3ds xl is 200 (which is BY FAR the most popular model)
And last, i dont know if 3ds are popular with kids but people at my university are loving them as i keep seeing tons of people with 'em
