it used to be a 300 shotgun or 300 sniper and now it is a 250 sidearm or sniper, same sniper as before

No you get the shotgun for the strikes playlist quest. You get the sniper at 250 don't think it was ever 300 light only the shotgun was for doing like 5 vanguard strikes, 5 heroic strikes, and a nightfall I think.

started using the eirene i got from the first armsday package i ordered, it has faucon scope, quickdraw, life support, performance bonus

liking it alot, i think i might prefer the lower aim assist and faster handling

You're better off using the LFG/Destiny Tracker. I would do it, but I just don't feel like doing the raid more than once as the RNG hates me, and I only find normal raid gear ><
