So this is interesting
it seems Tales of Zesteria has been found on the steam database, if it comes to PC it will be the first Tales game on PC
also Hyperdevotion Noire is out now on vita

and for anyone who hasn't noticed yet there is a number of JRPGs on sale for the vita this week

well Re;birth 2 was confirmed for it (which is why I'm not opening my LE)

and another game made by them called Fairy Fencer F was also confirmed for PC as well

I'm hoping they'll put both of those on sale at launch like they did Re;birth 1

personally I'd love to see more JRPGs hitting PC like the Atelier series
would also be awesome if Bamco ports older Tales games to PC (and brings them up to 60fps for the ones that were set at 30)

Apparently the Atelier Arland Trilogy releases in a few days (haven't seen much info mentioned on this other than it's probably a collection of the 3 games for PS3?)
also Atelier Shallie releases on the 10th (for PS3), The Awakened Fate Ultimatum on the 17th (for PS3), Toukiden Kiwami on the 31st (for PSV and PS4)
also NISA has preorders for Operation Abyss: Tokyo New Legacy up (I believe it's a DRPG style), I personally don't have much interest in this game, but it comes out June 9th

Well my Awakened Fate and Atelier Shallie arrived this week, prob won't play them until my PC and console aren't sharing the TV
Toukiden Kiwami releases soon for PS4 and Vita, I'm not grabbing it right away though, as out of all the MH-style games that have been made lately the original Toukiden was prob my least favourite as it started getting dull fast, but I'll eventually look into this 1 still
I also got my Hyperdevotion Noire recently, but MH has been keeping me occupied enough that I haven't turned my vita on in a while

SAO Lost Song, like Hollow Fragment, will be getting DLC to add more content to the game, still no news of a NA release, but I'd be surprised if we didn't get it at this point
and on the note of Hollow Fragment it was yet again a #1 seller (for February), the game hasn't dropped from the top list for Vita at all (stayed in top 5 or 10 since it launched)

NIS has been giving more Disgaea 5 info and they are apparently working on another PS4 title
CH has slowly been giving more info on HDNV2 as well
also Omega Quinlet, another CH game is coming out April 28th for NA and May 1st for EU, LE details still haven't been revealed yet

IFI is having a sign up for some closed beta testing for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 on steam
not much on requirements for it, but essentially the Terms and Conditions sound like an NDA when it comes to anything in this closed beta
they will give away closed beta keys until they've run out and the testing starts on the 6th and lasts for 2 weeks
also those who participated can get themselves a free steam key for the game when it launches

Omega Quintet came out tuesday for PS4

right now a number of JRPGs are on sale on PSN, may be worth it to grab some (although most are fairly niche games)
but as for general recommendations there is:
NAtURAL DOCtRINE, which I've found to be pretty dam hard on any difficulty as no matter the difficulty the AI seems to be pretty dam smart at linking turns
Tales games, all games of this series tend to be really good, I can't say I've flat out disliked any of them, but I do dislike that Symphonia HD was a lazy port/remaster since they left it at the 30fps the ps2 version had (whereas the GCN version was 60)

on another note Neptunia Action U comes out on the 19th for Vita and Re;birth2 gets it's steam release the same day

on the Nintendo side of things Fire Emblem IF is getting 2 versions in japan, each version signifies a different story path, and the other path can be purchased as DLC for cheaper than buying the other version, and there will be a 3rd route released as DLC as well
now the reasoning behind them doing an FE game this way was due to the fact each path will be comparably as long as Awakening, so essentially each path is the length of a full FE game
the different versions (paths?) will have different difficulties with White kingdom version being easiest, 3rd route being a middle ground, and Black kingdom being harder

Hey guys. I haven't played a good Jrpg in ages so I thought it's time to pick a new one up. I'm looking for something similar to Star Ocean 4 in terms of battle mechanics. The Tales of Symphonia HD remaster looks pretty interesting, but so does FF Type-0. Should be something on either PS3 or PS4.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm pretty much open for anything, since I haven't played that many Jrpgs yet.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't played enough of SO4, but any Tales game might have most of what you're looking for, but still they use the arena style very differently from each other imo
there is Symphonia, Xillia, Graces f, and soon Zestiria for PS3
