The lyudmila-d is actually insanely good, very reliable
2 burst and it causes a disgusting amount of flinch when it takes the shield off in 1 burst

The tether needs to happen as soon as the shot lands. The 2 second delay is more than enough time to get killed by whatever you shot it at
