So, thinking of doing a caster for my next playthrough. What do you all find more fun, magic or pyromancy?

Have not tried either of them out; put 0 points into faith, magic, etc. during first playthrough. Didn't want to cheese anything with magic ^_^

magic isnt overpowered in dark souls, so really you're not going to cheese anything
also you should say miracle vs sorcery instead of magic vs pyro (since pyro is only affected by the pyro glove, whereas the other two are affected by their own stats, so having strong pyro only requires more souls)

so going miracle or sorcery?
i feel like miracle is a bit more powerful (heals, good buff/debuffs, wotg)
on the other hand, sorcery has some pretty fun spells to play with (i love using chameleon and homing crystal soulmass when invading)

so imo just go on a wiki and check the spells for both and choose whichever you feel like is the most fun (but really chameleon is fucking hilarious in pvp)

Unless they lowered magic damage. It is so over powered. I was able to breeze a couple of the bosses just by dodging and casting. Even easier when using homing soul arrows.

i kill bosses by dodging and hitting them

im @ 32 int with beatrice catalyst and i aint doing that much dmg tbh, not using the sorcery boosting ring tho

i mean for the stats you invest, you would think sorcery would do a bit more dmg than pyro

/e: also ive been killing bosses a lot faster with my str build than my int build

I've never done a magic build. But I did try magic on my high level and I didn't have to swing. But I also had like 20 charges of homing crystal soul mass.
But yea I like melee and swinging at em

I put 16 in to STR for Drake sword but if I am going full sorc other than that, how much VIT/END should I look at investing over time? Ive pretty much gone full INT other than the STR. No Vit or End so far and I just saved Griggs for the first time (to tell you where Im at)

Am I like the only person that can stand to play through this game once? I enjoyed it thoroughly and ensured I got as much done as possible first playthrough...anything after seems rather pointless. Beating it is enough for me ~~

well this game isn't super exciting, if you're looking for super replay value in terms of new things each time, but there is the challenge.
i have 3 characters, 1 from my first time, another with a moonlight sword build, and currently trying a SL 1 run.
yea it has no new story for me, but i like the challenge and helping people in co-op, more fun than running through myself at some points.

endurance caps at 40 (you stop gaining stamina after 40)

dimishing return for vit @ 40 too i think

my int build has something like 25vit 32end 16att 20str 16dex 32int (prolly going to put all my remaining stats there or pump vit/end to 30/40, still not sure)

but really if you're not going to pvp, its really a matter of preference, if you can manage with something like 20vit/20end, stay @ 20/20
