where do i get a bow to shoot the tail off for the drak sword? how much str do I need?

im a sorc with 10 str right now

There's a guy that sells a shortbow near the bonfire in that little tower back at the Undead Burg. There should be 2 spear skeletons guarding a rooftop, smash some boxes and there's a stairway that leads down into the building, go out of the building and there should be a merchant to the immediate left. He sells a shortbow and some arrows.

For first and even second playthroughs I wouldn't even bother with stat scaling if you're going to be melee. I'd just get that endurance pumped to the 40 cap, enough str/dex for the main weapon(s) you want to use, and the rest into vita...Never really cared about attunement slots aside from Iron Flesh. With Havel's ring and 40 Endurance you can more or less use any armor set comfortably aside from the super-heavy sets. And I'd just stick with the Eagle Greatshield since it can essentially block every type of attack in the game as long as you have enough stamina, and it's a very low eqp burden as opposed to the other greatshields.

Am I the only one not able to consistently jump ? How do you do it

What other items like Drake Sword do I want to be sure not to miss?

Uh....you run and then tap X again ~~....

Imo the Lightning Spear is something you don't want to miss. Just like the Drake Sword it will essentially become your weapon for the second half of the game. Some people have found their niche with other weapons, but for plain effectiveness and ease I was able to rock the Drake Sword all the way to Sen's Fortress where I found the Lightning Spear, the Drake Sword had more or less run out of steam by then, and then you just steamroll your way through the rest of the game with the Lightning Spear (keep it upgraded) and you can also make some other good weapons (Lightning/Fire Claymore)

Isnt running then X just roll though? I mean like an actual jump. Ive gotten the animation a few times but when it doesnt do it, it just rolls instead (95% of the time)

you hold X to run, then tap it really fast it's usually a jump.
but i know what you mean, sometimes it ends up doing a roll

Just rang the first bell. I feel bad using Drake Sword... its so cheap. Thats why I'm on the fence about using strategy guides of any kind. We'll see

It makes the game alot more manageable imo...I find it pretty necessary for the first playthrough. Idk, I think I'd find DS to be pretty discouraging without it if I was on my first playthrough and not all that familiar with the game...

It becomes useless soon enough.
