i just realized that if u hit triangle and circle together on a small enemy its auto kill? what the hell

It isn't, if there is O above their head it's an execution to finish them. Only works if there is O above them like on bosses.

i think you can just grab zombies (with O) and instantly kills the zombies

Yeah, some monsters are instant death like the swap things etc.
