the control took me a day to get use to

Yeah it takes a little bit to get used to. Even when I did play the first one it took me just a bit to get used to the controls. At least you don't have to keep pressing X when you run along the walls until you are wall-hopping.

how do you turn into the reaper form when its avalible?

Press L1 and R2 at the same time and press it again to change back if you don't want to use your reaper bar. It isn't that great in the beginning unless you start buffing it or have gear. I hardly ever used it at all.
