The Dark Wood Grain Ring drops from Shiva's bodyguard. He's the dude standing outside of one of the 2 interlinked ruins in the Darkroot Forest. You need to join the Forest Hunter for him to be there. His ninja bodyguard drops the ring. What you need to do is join the Forest Hunter and warp out of there and then go find them by the waterwheel at the bottom of Blighttown. That way you can buy the Washing Pole & Laito from him, both good weapons to enchant. His ninja bodyguard should be standing somewhere behind him, he's ethereal.

The ring you find in the Catacombs is the Darkmoon Seance Ring. (Let's you join Blade of the Dark Moon & lets you fight Dark Sun Gwyndolin) You don't need the ring to fight Gwyndolin though, all you need do for that is shoot the titty monster in Anor Londo, she'll die and then the whole place goes dark and there's no monsters. Just know if you kill Gwyndolin the firekeeper will hostile you, and you'll be forced to end her. Atleast you can up your flask, you won't need to go back to Anor Londo after that unless you haven't done Painted World yet.

Gotta go to blight town :( I hate that place :( hahah. I got the ring, going to join that covenant

You can try just shutting off your PS3 I'd imagine, otherwise you're fucked.

You need to go to Darkroot first to join the Forest Hunter covenant. If you don't care about the Washing Pole and Laito you can just kill Shiva and his bodyguard right there to get the ring, but in order to be able to buy both swords you need to meet him down in Blighttown...getting to the bottom of the waterwheel is piss easy, all you need to do is take the entrance from the Valley of the Drakes.

Enchant it with fire. You can't get the ember until you get to Lost Izalith though.

Edit: Tell me the Washing Pole isn't awesome....thing is so huge LOL, like Sephiroth's sword...I love that thing. Plus the varied attack pattern is great.

Just killed Chaos Witch Quelaag. Fight was disappointingly easy after going through the hell hole known as Blighttown to get to her. :(

Also: Is there a short cut from the area near Quelaag back to the main area (or any other area, really)? Didn't see one, and going through all of Blighttown to get down there is a pain in the ass.

the big waterwheel. you can ride it up then climb a few ladders (theres a fire keeper soul along the way also)

Ah. Found the Fire Keeper soul up there but didn't see another exit. Guess I'll have to take another look. Thanks.

That sewer isn't the way, you need to go higher. There's a bunch more ladders that keep going up once you get off of the waterwheel.
