I'll add you in a little bit, me and Nick played together, so far seems pretty easy to join games with friends, we did a few trist runs to see how quick it would take to setup new lobbies and it was very smooth.

Nahh not spending money on a MnK when I want to play console. Sure it makes it more easy / how it's meant to be played but I like the controller and want to stick with it. Enjoy playing on the couch and not at my desk.


Here's my initial day one thoughts I wrote on Reddit:

1) there is no lobby system to join games. D2R is currently setup like D3 where you join random lobbys based off minimal things it seems like what quest are you doing, etc. That was a major letdown to me. If this game is a REMASTER then why take away the lobby system? It makes trading MUCH harder, if I am looking for a specific item I could just make a game with that title. Now I have no idea how to trade unless I use d2jsp or some other 3rd party which is awful for a trading game. I hate random lobby system and it SHOULD be like d2 since that’s the game you’re remastering… not D3.

2) please make voice chat available in game… on console it is impossible to do anything other than “quick chat” which is dumb. At least let us use a chat bar and manually type. I don’t want to have to invite every random to a party chat. ESO and other MMOs do a good job at it, not impossible to add to d2.

3) the coloring on Unique mobs is awful. The gold looks way too close to white lettering it’s hard to tell a boss mob



The game is fun and enjoyable but these three are honestly huge issues to me. I doubt the first one is getting changed or will change with release... the second one might be getting added as that feature is already in D3, although annoying they don't even have a chat option other than quick chat. What kind of BS is that.

Im not asking you to go out of your way and buy a kbm to test it with
Odds are i will main on pc and use cross progression to pop trophies on console

This is just a beta
Not all features are meant to be readily available
And if they are all available, whats missing can be patched in

Pc already has lobbies which is what has me worried, I’m sure they’ll fix game chat that one should be easy… if they keep random lobbies honestly this game is going to fail on console

Its things like this that make me wish they focused on the pc version firstly then ported it over to consoles afterwards
Their focus seems to be making it release on every platform at the same time but console versions clearly need special treatment that differ from pc because not everything works or reacts the same when it should

It’s already kinda boring and feels like the community is separated. Trading is going to be a mega pain in the ass, grinding tomb/chais/baal is going to be hard af unless you have active friends

They still have a month and change to get it right
Or after the beta they could always delay the release
Im still curious about the trophy list, the modding community
And the uploading legacy single player characters part that the devs briefly addressed
will you be able to upload modded single player characters?
Cuz i got 2 badass characters waiting to be uploaded to stomp out whatever trophies they wanna code into the game
