The next-generation system came out on Nov. 15 in the United States and other regions. Due to having a different architecture, the PS4 can’t play PS3 video games right out of the box, which upset many fans who wanted backwards compatibility. However, it seems like Sony Computer Entertainment may be adding the feature back in the near future with the Playstation Plus.


How did we get back to ps3 games? Doom mentioned PS1 and PS2 games being able to be locally played on a ps4. Maybe I'm missing something since you run 14 thoughts into a blob of words.

The rumor I heard was we could use PS1 and PS2 discs on our ps4 after a future patch and ps3 games would still be used with playstation now. You're saying thats wrong? I don't care about the subscription or payment method needed.

Sony Computer Entertainment previously confirmed that the PS1 and PS2 library will be available for stream through the Playstation Now service that is slated to launch this summer in North America

becasue psnow/gaikai is bringing ps1-3 games to ps4 via streaming ...
