hey guys im going to buy this game tomorrow and just want some tips

i want to enjoy the game, and from what ive read you dont really make certain chars, but just level up skills that you use right?

so what should i go with for my first playthrough to get the best experience?

like a main char that does everything?

i would like to use magic and stab people in the back with sneaking, as well as melee and use archery as well!

help is much appreciated!

Not really viable, seeing as how there are a limited number of perks... You'd be dropping quite a bit of your effectiveness to try to accumulate them all. Just do whatever you like most first, focus on it, then make a new character later and go a different route.

e: That's assuming you play on master difficulty for the most challange and fun... I'm sure if you play normal or easier you can roll through the game just fine without using perks

You don't "really" make characters, they level with your play style.
What you are suggesting is multiple play style's. Therefor you will be weak in multiple different area's rather then proficient in one or two.
As Dragonkilla8 suggested, get your main build down then make a new character or explore other options.

...Or he could just play the game how he wanted and not care about dying every now and again?

He could play holding the controller upside down if he wants to, doesn't make it a good idea.

I probably won't play through twice, would a sneaky char with backstab and thieving be good using magic to?

The official guide shows some cookie cutter builds based on different playstyles but I can't seem to find a decent equivelent online to link you. :(

i think your best bet would be to go battlemage, weapon in one hand and a spell in the other so you can do melee and magic, and backstab sneak attacks when you feel like it. you can use archery as secondary also if you want for sneak attacks, but you'd have to spread your perks out into a handful of skill trees (one-handed, destruction, sneak, maybe archery, smithing or enchanting) but you'd be fine playing through the whole game casually just once to experience the story. use your points wisely and don't get anything you won't really need. i personally like playing a hybrid character because it can get stale doing one style of combat throughout the whole game, and also less and less challenging since any pure char of any class can easily get the advantage over enemies as you get perks/items.
