Where does Sony get off advertising a kickstarter instead of just funding the game?

kickstarter is literally free money regardless of how bad the game does

so far nothing really interest me

most are mulitplat just only play it first on ps

FF7 interested me (probably my favorite game all time), but their lack of dates certainly doesn't.
