The manufactures have assumed there will be defective units and the store knows it. The store will return it to the manufacture. So while it is a scam I guess because you are operating outside of where you should be, its not a loss to anyone.

If i understood correctly its not the cable its the pins in the port of the ps4

I'm going to say you probably take the HDMI out pretty violently because I haven't had this issue and disconnect it all the time as well as others in this thread have stuff said the same. For it to rip pins out your either taking it out in an angle or just not paying attention because this seems more like user error then a hardware issue.
