Thats what I did. I got a ps4 cheap knowing I wouldnt play it that much. Dont regret it at all.

Especially since retailers make very little to nothing selling consoles. Profitable revenue comes from games and accessories.

Basic retail or big chain stores management typically don't see any change in discounts other than seeing bonuses by at the end of the year. We're talking store director level....1 person.


The company would be losing a significant amount of money selling a PS4 for $100.

When I worked at Target I was able to combine sale price/employee discount/target card/ carthweel app all on same console purchase. So it is not as rare as you think.

That was just my situation. You made it seem like it was impossible to do. I also frequently bought electronics/gaming merch for 50-75% off. It was part of the reason I stayed there longer than I had too.

No, it wasn't Walmart. I started at Toys R Us when I was 16. I worked through college, then after getting a job out of college, I cut down my time there to 1-5 days a week until I left last year because i no longer needed a second job. I was offered numerous managing positions from the district manager but denied them all because TRU a terrible company to work for and I had no intention on partaking in a managing position for them. I'm not ashamed of where I started my first job. I worked as much as a could to save up as much money through high school and college.

Again, nothing of what you said adds up to 75% off a console. Obtaining deals can be had anywhere if you try hard enough. I'm just curious, i'm not arguing AGAINST it, but OP hasn't explain how yet. The original PS4 only had the eligibility for under $20 profit at retail price (for sony) and that is an at best situation. I'm not acting like I know everything, I'm just curious about OPS situation.
