Yes when you put in a game and it doesn't play or read the disc, the blu Ray disc reader/laser, whatever you wanna call it is shot
This happened to me a few years back, I took it in to a local computer repair shop that also did work on consoles

well it had no hard drive, i put my own 500 gig in it.. but i dont wanna pay full price for games when i can buy when used on ebay for 5-7 $ lol

he gave u a ps3 with a broken blueray and no hd?
its prob not worth getting the ps3 in working condition at this rate or he prob woulda did it
i mean mayyybe if u pay like $60 for the blueray and then like $5 a game

well other then the hd being gone and drive not working, it works well... i downloaded some free psn games and everything works

plus i alrdy had a 500 gig lying around that i took out of a old laptop... i just dont wanna pay 60+ for games when i can get a replacement on ebay for like 15-20 and games for 5-7 :/

The best option there is. Been buying them for 5 off kijiji then reselling them

Only one I bought was destiny with all exp packs. Was 40bucks from 70 else where
My brother told me to get all the packs else the game itself isn't worth it
