The difference between the imperial and regular edition is that with the imperial edition you can play the imperial class and you get a horse. You can upgrade the regular edition to imperial edition later but you need to buy crowns to do so (or earn them with a subscription). It ends up being cheaper to just start with the imperial edition though.

If you do the monthly thing you can play the dlc and you get a monthly crown allowance to use in the instore game towards mounts, buying dlc so you can still access it when your sub expires I guess and other stuff.

Id suggest you watch pvp and gameplay videos and make up your mind based on that. If you liked oblivion and/or skyrim you'll most likely like this game. I personally love eso but I'm a pretty big elder scrolls fan so keep that in mind.

Skyrim was actually the first elderscrolls game that got me hooked...
since then I have played Morrowind and Oblivion.. but Skyrim is still my favorite of all the games...

that being said, I think Eso is a great game to play when you want that MMO experience...

I do the subscription because I get fair amount of crowns and everything unlocked... so... when you start playing you find that you REALLY want more crowns at all times LMFAO...
those mounts and costumes and pets etc. start looking very good when you get hardcore into the game...

I think the Bear mounts are my favorite... got the brown one and the black one... and missing the white one when it was out still HAUNTS ME TO THIS DAY I HOPE THEY COME OUT AGAIN

Since I posted that I went to play it. It's worse than skyrim imo. O couldn't give two shits about the loose story and it's very solo. It reminds me of a kingdom of amalur but with a elder scrolls skin.
