Best tekken game for last gen?

tekken tag 2 if you're willing to take the time to learn it, it is a much harder game and will be an easy transition to Tekken 7 since 7 will be dumbed down for newcomers
tekken tag 2 has a steep learning curve
if not then the free one "Tekken Revolution" is a good entry tekken to learn the basics

How is Tekken 3? I remember playing some tekken on my ps1 years ago but cant remember which game it was. Haven't touched it since.

I had way more fun with street fighter and mortal kombat back then than i did with tekken

all 3 are classics
I think the new MK is fun but it's honestly a broken system with a bunch of broken characters in the competitive scene
even the top players of the long time MK community agree and some have even gave up on the game

tekken and sf are the most balanced of the 3 right now

but for a newcomer I think jumping into any of those games won't be enjoyable due to the learning curve and everyone already knowing what to do in most matchups
Tekken Revolution is probably your best shot since it's free and has a lot of newcomers because it's free

Ironically MK feels the most dead
I play the same players multiple times throughout one session on both the XB1 and PS4
Plenty of players still playing TTT2 and USF4

MK is fun and it's very flashy but the most casual of the 3
If you want to jump into the competitive scene and transition into SF5 or Tekken 7, stay away from MK because that play style will fuck your transition

I love the jump kicks that SF and MK have. And the sweeps. I don't remember tekken having those features. Its been many years though
