The fats actually have a higher fail rate than the slims.

the ps2 or ps3? for ps2 i think we went through this a while back
and for ps3 ive seen like 6 slims die on people and only 1 fat but that was just the blueray it still works he was trying to JB it

but regardless of what ive seen my ps3 is still kickin for now so i cant complain

Had the same problem

You need to vacuum all the dust underneath it. There is literally a vent underneath and it will be covered with dust. I had the same issue for the longest time, thinking it was just my fan running when playing gta 5, then suddenly it started doing it when I was on netflix. I cleaned it completely and it is good as new, doesn't make any noise what so ever.

Ya had lots of dust used vacuum now no more annoying fan noise
