Might aswell count each lightbulb in your house too? The wear and tear on turning it off and on will cost u more than a little electricity at 10-70 watts I think =P

People do this.
That's why things have an Energy Star rating.

Wear and tear from a hard power off is not true post-1993. It originated from old manufacturer s having troubles with power supplies. Those days are long gone.
A television contains many of the same components of as a PC, do you leave it on all the time?

You are incorrect sir.
Magnetic disc drives lifetime is determined by the number of read/write operations it performs.
Also, it is a much better to turn off you PS4 completely then to leave it on idle from the sheer amount of kWh it consumes.
A PS4 idle can use between 10-70 watts depending on if it was performing any downloads.
To put that in perspective, if you were to use your console 1 hour a day and leave it on idle for the 23 hours, you would spend between $.67-$4.68 dollars a month on strictly keeping your PS4 on idle.

Energy rating aside coz i could care less about $5 a month, cold starting the ps4 would put more stress on the system that just coming out of rest mode would it not?

I never turn my PC off, unless Im away from home for a few days

how so? the parts are running cooler pc parts run better when they are cooled and not warm/hot
you ever try gaming on a laptop? and notice it seems to get slwoer and slower? thats becasue laptops overheat like a mofo
why do you think they have liquid coolinG? a bazillion fans ect ect in pc cases? to keep it cool not heat it up

and you ever leave a pc on for a long time or continuesly put it in sleep mode? it runs slower then if you were to do a fresh restart or turn it off and on
wtf do you think rest mode is? its sleep mode but actually still does more actions meaning it cools down even less

also $5 a month? thats for just the ps4 if u were to get enerysaving bulbs u could save like $15 a month which adds up over a year but who cares when mommy n daddy are paying right?

Get off your period. Maybe mommy and daddy should buy you some pads. You're acting like a teenager with a bleeding vagina

Don't know what any of that means. Don't even know what the change was. I was merely asking a question about cold starting the Ps4 instead of resuming from rest mode when you chimed in with your mommy and daddy bullshit

It was the case for CPUs pre 1993. The CPU would require so much energy to startup and the power supply would just throw it at it, the CPU would go from cold to hot so fast they could crack. It's not an issue these days.

Do you turn your Ps4 off every time or put it in rest mode?
