I'm pretty sure that won't work for him. He wants all sound to his tv and still use his headset for just a mic.

It can only do game audio to tv
No option for chat audio as well

I just have the regular wireless ps3 sony headset, i wish these worked on the ps4 but they don't.

Very comfortable. I have the same ps3 ones you have and these are a huge upgrade in every category in my opinion.
