Completely situational. If you find yourself with extra money and are bored with the current lineup of games on consoles and PC then sure why not. But if you don't plan on taking it places for the majority of your play time you have to know you are buying a piece of hardware that is a downgrade from what you are currently using, on a smaller screen, with smaller controls. When I had my original PSP I found myself wondering why I'm playing it on the coach when I could be looking at a big T.V. with a decent controller in my hand. The only real thing it has going for it is the remote play, but I would rather just be playing a console in most situations.

My vita doesn't travel. Sits on one of my bed side tables at all times when not in use.

Console is great if you get passed the naysayers. If you can find one cheap right now I'd pick it up. If not I'd just wait the month or so till the next gen comes out because it comes with a game and a memory card for the same price as we have currently.

I paid 119 for a vita in mint condition(advertised as condition 6)

then you can usually find a deal on a memory card. 16gb for 30$ or so, 32gb for 60$ or so..I know they are terrible prices, but according to the market they are technically deals =o
