They are still at probably all retail stores
And support for them is still up
Hopefully will last me 5 years atleast but Im pretty sure itll be more than that

I know Panasonic jumped ship last summer. Not very many people buy them anymore.

Only reason I can say besides what has already been said is plasmas don't perform well in well lighted situations from windows and such. You lose the darks and pick up a lot of glare. Don't know what your space entails but that'd be the deal breaker for my living situation.

Other than that plasmas look sexy

I've heard this before
The light in the room I want it in is very dim
I'm wondering if it is the glare is the issue or the reflection of the object in the screen
The light itself is in a position that it can't be reflection in the TV screen
So I guess the only real issue I'm wondering is how bad the glare would be. To the point where I HAVE to turn off the lights or will dim lighting be ok

There is always setting a lamp behind the TV.

I dont think i have space behind the tv for a lamp lol

its preference really i dont like plasmas personally

Bought a plasma

Hands down the best gaming quality
Compared it to my older model Samsung led 240Hz
Plasma so much smoother and the colors/details are so much better

I'd recommend plasmas over led anyday
