No problem. Our Centurlink tech assigned the wrong outlet for just internet since we have 7 phone outlets so all of us are wireless on our devices lol. We got a router that can handle it all. I guess our modem can handle higher speeds with just a firmware update.

If you are wondering we have the (Actiontec) qwest m1000 modem. You can get one on Amazon still, but for that price I wonder if it is better to get a pure Docsis modem.

With my phone I can go a block and a half away and still be connected to our Wifi.

I use to have really good range can go to the neighbors and get wifi still
but they did "maintenance" and "updated" there systems
was down for 2 days cuz of that bullshit

Wow lol. Wonder if the range extending option, whatever it's called, is off. I tried looking around for a docsis and didn't find much online anyway. The m1000 on Amazon is ~85. If you do go that route and get that one I would make sure if your Centurylink still supports it (may depend on your location).

Could you plug your router/combo into a better router?

Ethernet is the only real solution. move your router. if you played with a ethernet you would say zomg! insane fast

I looked into it and you can make your combo modem/router run soley as a modem but it requires so tweaking. So I guess it depends on how tech savvy you are.
