Imagine buying something from the PS Store but instead of it being downloaded/installed, you buy a "virtual pass" and it is then streamed to your console.
The vision is to have the entire backlog of PlayStation games able to stream to your PS4 and other devices. Since processing is done server end you could theoretically play a PS4 game on a smart phone.

It's mainly to tap into the backlog.

I'm sad to say this really doesn't interest me. I love me some gaming but why do I need to play old games on my new system? I have a ps2 and a ps3 within reach, I don't need more fees in my life, and I don't like the idea that the money I spend does not acquire the games I'm receiving but merely a temporary license until something happens that takes that game away from me. I feel like games will be pulled by developers for stupid reasons, the titles we want will be delayed constantly while we get the games Sony tells us we want and overall no matter what happens it will be heralded as a success all due to the hype.
