When I think RPG I'm thinking more of a JRPG. The genres have had some serious paradigm shifts in the past decade and a half. Back then in the PS1 and PS2 days your standard RPG would be what is labeled today as a "JRPG". For some reason I can't seem to classify the free-roamers like Fallout and Borderlands and stuff like that as an "RPG". I suppose my mind has been streamlined and hazed over by growing up with various RPGs and dungeon crawlers like Final Fantasy, Legend of the Dragoon, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Valkyrie Profile. Suikoden, Parasite Eve, etc. To me, those are RPGs, and not many come out like it today. In all honesty last gen the only RPGs I really enjoyed was Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Tales of Xillia, and Ni No Kuni.
