If you wait for the new 4.5 update you can use external HDD up to 8TB.

Well you could already store saves on an external drive so I assume so

I read the patch notes and it said they are adding external HDD support for games, so you can increase your library externally, not sure how smooth it will run the games, the saves will still be saved on the local PS4 HDD just the physical games can be saved onto external.

USB 3.0 can get throughput of 5Gbps while SATA gets 6. Should be fine.

So i finnaly bought a 2 tb with an external adaptor i switched up my 500gb with the 2tb and i can now use my 500gb as a back up external but did the 4.5 Come out yet?
