Tekken 7
Gameplay

Combo System

The combo system in Tekken 7 retains some of the aspects of Tekken Revolution, in which it is no longer possible to bound a character during a combo. Additionally, it is no longer possible to catch an opponent rolling. An interesting addition is the ability roll after doing a toe kick when getting up. However, the bound state still exists, but "a lot of moves that use to bound are being taken out".[16] In order to compensate the lack of bounds, many moves were given new combo dynamics in order to extend combos.

An example would be Hwoarang's "Backlash" having the same properties in a combo as it would on a regular hit, in which it would cause the opponent to slump to the ground. This new feature, has been dubbed by Japanese players as "Kirimomi" (translated as "Aerial Tailspin"), and, like bound had been in Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, can only be done once during a combo.

Additionally, there are other new positions that characters may be left at. One such position shows a character raising their back in pain, similar to the K.O animation.

Screw
A new move property introduced to replace bounds, screw moves are the new staple for many combos, as the screw property makes the player spin and land in a very vulnerable slump-like state where extra combos and damage are guaranteed; may also be referred to as kirimomi or tailspin.
Power Crush

One of the new features is the introduction of a new type of move called Power Crush. These moves absorb damage from a mid or a high attack, and it still continues despite taking damage.
Rage Arts

Rage Arts alter the performance of a single move of a character during Rage Mode. A Rage Art perform an attack animation akin to the Super Moves from the Street Fighter series, Critical Edge from Soul Calibur V, and Power Blow from Dead or Alive 5. A significant note is that when a Rage Art is performed, the character will immediately lose their rage. These arts can also be done during a combo.
Item Moves

Item moves will be returning for Tekken 7, an interesting note is that Asuka, King and Xiaoyu retain the same item moves as they had in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. It is unknown if the returning characters from TTT2 will keep their in-game item move.

Stage Effects

Like in TTT2, stage effects will also return. As of the location test, a stage was shown to have the regular "Floor Break" mechanism. Interestingly, this doesn't leave the receiving character in a bound state as it normally would, but would have them bounce like the tag bound in TTT2. Another stage showed a "Balcony Break" which left the opponent in a bouncing state rather than a bound state, with a breakable wall below.
