Anyone else play this game? Any recommendations regarding the sliders to make game better.

- So far I have noticed that my player's puckhandling is really low, even if the puck passes next to his stick he won't take it. It's not about player skill since I tested this with 99 overall player too. It's frustrating when puck is on the boards and you have 3 people trying to take it against one AI. Guess who takes the puck? Human controlled players just skate through the puck... Checking feels quite pointless since you won't get the puck even if you manage to get opponent down. Seems that only option is to have 2 human pressing of which another takes the puck.
- In addition to the above, if I raise the skill level to superstar for example, the AI sticks start to act like a vacuum cleaner... Every puck that ever went near them is vacuumed into their sticks. Fun!
- Also, my defencemen cannot pass! Not even a simple pass. Puck is at right defender, I have free lane at right and I'm the only player at right. There is nothing between me and the defender. I ask for a pass. The defender passes the puck TO THE LEFT directly to the opponent. WTF? This has come to a point that I'm really scared of asking passes from AI players since they WILL fuck it up most of the time. Luckily I'm playing with 2 other people so human controlled passes are no problem at all.
- I gotta admit that the goalie play has gotten really better. I played 4 games yesterday and AI scored no "FU-goals" against us. At NHL14 they would have gotten at least 2 cheap goals per game from those places.

inb4 L2P We win without problems, but this AI is just horrible. Also own players colliding each other all the time. The last thing I want to see is that the only AI players on our side check each other and it's 2-0 attack to the opponent.

i dont find it that bad but i dont play that often any more mostly just sim be a gm mode

Agree 100% game is fucking garbage, was playing HUT solo mode only on pro and the computer is bullshit, can't skate near another player without getting rocked, can't take passes, can't hit their players, won't receive the puck if its between their legs, the computer will grab it. Yet every shot they take goes in practically. Rookie mode is too easy, I don't get it.

I just wish they removed the momentum from the game. It's not even fun anymore when you shoot 5 times to the crossbar in 5 consecutive shots. Nice. Please make the shot go wide or something. It's just plain stupid.

Same thing with your own defence and passing game. You just can't ask even a simple pass cause they will fuck it up anyway. If there is a change they will. Their pass % is probably something like 30% and that 70% goes directly to the opponent with no own players near. Wth? As dumb as it sounds, you get better results when you START CHECKING YOUR OWN D-MAN with puck. Just hit him cold into the boards, he was no use anyway.

Start hitting crossbar? Start a fight and win. Your shots will always be goals for some time after that. Same thing with checking. After I got momentum my players are like magnets that have huge steering assistance and magnetic force to the check target.

Also the puck control is just wacky. If you got no momentum, you can skate 5 times over the puck and the player will not pick the puck. This is with 99 stats player btw. Funny how 60 average player will be the king of the rink if the game decides so.

Only thing I'm complaining less than 14 is that my own goalie seems to be a little more trustworthy. If I win 10-2 in superstar, it would have been 10-7 in nhl 14 cause goalies didn't stop anything.

Also, funny things would happen if they removed the stupid bug goals. Online games are just plain stupid cause people look for one shot only.



I would be more happy playing nhl 2005 or so with updated graphics. But I'm not surprised when I think of EA.

crank all the settings up. much more fun that way. game is way too slow on the default settings.

and momentum is ood if you know how to use it properly

Manual or auto shooting, won't matter. Game has decided that you hit the crossbar and you hit it. You can also notice when momentum has decided that AI gets a goal. Sloppy shot from the red line and it bounces in. Yeah right.

Momentum is just plain stupid. You can abuse it, but there is no way around it. What if you had unpredictable wind in a racing game that steered you off the track no matter how hard you try to steer against it? On a straight road. That's NHL's momentum in a racing game. Yes, momentum could be ok if it had much less effect. Now game is just momentum abuse and glitch goal in every internet game. How fun is that.

In 05 there was no momentum. So that's half of the problems fixed already. I had way more fun playing NHL 98. And 95. That should tell everything that's needed to know.




Ummm... No. Game is too arcade already. If I wanted to play like that I can always play NHL Hitz which is still best arcade hockey available.

Someone really complains that? Tbh I have hard time believing that, if you go to EA Forums or pretty much anywhere the most discussed feature is momentum/ice tilt. Not realism at any means. If people really want more arcadelike game, then I have totally missed most of them.

people have been complainnig this since like 12 its to slow and realistic its not as fun to play why do you think they added momentum?
