Turn off the notification sound with the new update?
I want system music turned on but not. Sounds off..

Worked fine before update

press mute really fast on your remote when you see it pop up

personally im not a fan of this last patch they try to force you to put the ps4 in rest mode instead of turning it off
i like to turn my consoles off so they can cool down cuz they get pretty warm when i game but if it goes into rest mode n keeps dls and installing shit it defeats the point of turning it off
now i gotta go to like "power options" and turn it off every time they added like 2 extra steps

to me this was pointless

You can still simply zurn it off like before
Go to options where the rest mode options etc are and turn everything off

After that you can simply turn your ps4 off when you press the ps button like it was before

i looked in settings i didnt see anything and i read the notification then it went away so i figured it was just saying it changed
ill look again ><

either way its one or the other? why change it i liked having both options right there sometimes i want it in rest mode to dl most times i dont
why fix what doesnt need fixing... it makes it broken

The ps4 is just a computer in disguise, it's much harder on them to turn all the way off and on. Even playing in a 90 degree bedroom heat should not be a issue with ur ps4 gaming all day. They are designed for that (u can't overclock them and they have auto temp shut off worst case scenario). People don't realize that and many turn their ps4 off multiple times daily and Sony must have realized a trend in fried hard drives lol

Magnetic disc drives lifetime is determined by the number of read/write operations it performs.
Also, it is a much better to turn off you PS4 completely then to leave it on idle from the sheer amount of kWh it consumes.
A PS4 idle can use between 10-70 watts depending on if it was performing any downloads.
To put that in perspective, if you were to use your console 1 hour a day and leave it on idle for the 23 hours, you would spend between $.67-$4.68 dollars a month on strictly keeping your PS4 on idle.

they just want more people to take advantage of rest mode i think
i mean it is good but its just personal taste id rather shut it right down
