Just got a new router, and all devices work with it, both wired and wireless, except my ps4. I've been toying with it for hours and my ps4 will not connect.

Anyone know of any ideas?

do the ps4 network setup?

I went through the setup with both LAN and Wifi. It says it cannot obtain an IP address. The ps4 was working fine with my old router yesterday, I'm trying to find out why its not accepting this router.

If it's not working wired there might be something blocking it router level. Like a firewall or something.

This is what I'm trying to figure out. I'm going through the manual settings for the network connection on ps4, and now its been giving me "cannot connect to internet" with error code NW-31205-1.

First what kind of router?

Second type 192.168.0.1 into your browsers address bar and check your router settings. Make sure uPnp is turned on. Also make sure the router is not blocking your ps4 from accessing the Internet.

You are getting that code wired or wireless?

Or sometimes 192.168.1.1, but yeah. I would first see if the router is even seeing the PS4/.

It sounds like the router is blocking your ps4 ip.

You can see what the ip is easily because your ps4 broadcasts a low level wifi signal for use with second screen devices.
