Do the stories connect or can you play them in any order?

I played this game for a little bit, I was shocked at how good it was. At first I didn't like killing the animals because it was sad, now they must all die!

From what ive heard you dont interact with the main charactor until missiin 18/35. Other than that i cant wait to play it around christmas. This will be the first of 6 games i play

I'll be picking this game up when it's reduced. As mush as I like Far Cry games, I don't fancy paying full whack for a re-skinned game.
