I enjoyed it quite a bit, put about 18 hours on it, split between my series x and my one x. Series x on a lg cx oled (4k60) and the one x on a 1080p monitor.
Feedback:
It plays well on both systems. Obviously looks much better on the series x, but I can see myself enjoying it on the one x too (in my work office, don't tell the boss). No major fps dips, only a few here and there which is expected for a beta. Graphic wise it looked great. The cutscenes sent me on a huge nostalgia flashback... they look so good. Series x is paired to a 65" LG CX OLED TV and damn it keeps amazing me how far things have come in 20 years.
The characters look great, as do the items and UI. The environment is awesome looking on series x and still good on one x.
I'm still amazed at how well they ported the gameplay to a controller. It's not perfect but damn it's good enough for me. Hardcore pvp I would prefer a kb+m, but for just playing the game, controller is great.
For casual playing from the comfort of my bed, doing solo runs or even group pvp games, console is perfect for me. I can easily see myself completing the game through hell on solo this way, or doing rushes, baal runs, etc.
Here's some issues or constructive feedback because it's not all peachy. Inventory management is a bit rough. Having to hold buttons to equip/sell/move them is probably the best way they could do it, but its gonna take some getting used to, so I don't accidentally sell a soj instead of equipping it (or worse, dropping it next to someone else). Looting items is also wonky. It got much easier when I changed the binding for attack off of the main interact button (A) so im not spam looting while attacking. Also, toggling items to always show on the ground helped a lot here. Lastly, while most skills felt just fine, teleport seemed to glitch some. Casting and the distance it moved was fine (its a default distance) but my character would always do this odd wiggle in place at the end of the teleport (new location). Hard to describe but it was an annoyance I hope they can iron out, it almost looked like server lag or a small desynch right at the end of the teleport after landing.
Also, there isn't a way to feed potions to merc currently which needs implementation. The game creation process while worked well isn't what I'd want. Give me ability to make games manually instead of matchmaking me based on quest I choose or if I'm wanting to free roam or pvp or trade.
These are minor annoyances that don't ruin the game for me, but they do detract from the experience and I'm hoping they flesh them out a bit. It's a beta after all, wasn't expecting perfect 1:1 copy of d2.
All in all would gladly preorder it again knowing all this. Can't wait for next weekend to try some other chars (had sorc lvl 22 and pally lvl 16, going to try barb next and maybe zon)
Ask me anything, I'll try my best to answer, I messed around quite a bit with not only playing but a ton of the settings too.
