Will probably be a pretty short game, but I'll get it. Loved the first one, this should be good.

What insight do you have into the games length? I'm hoping the story is as long as the first one. I'm sure multiplayer will get the gtav cash grab aspects so I'm kinda meh about that. As long as the story is on point.

The first was long enough for me, and I also enjoyed it a lot. Just fired it up recently as it got the one X treatment and it actually looks great.

Well, the average time for RDR was only about 30 hours. I generally finish games in around 1/2-2/3 of the average play-time, depending on the game. Usually the sequel with better graphics and improved aspects elsewhere spend soooo much time on that, that they spend less time on giving us loads and loads of random quests, which is what makes the play-time long enough, since the story if going straight through with no stops will probably be pretty damn short.

I'm only speculating based off recent games, and based off the previous RDR, but I wouldn't be surprised if this game was only 15-20 hours for 90% completion. I'll get it and I'll probably love it no matter what, but I'm hoping it's longer than its predecessor

The newest GoW is a completely different type of game than any of the earlier installments, RDR2 isn't.. All the previous GoW games were just hack n slash run-through games which are pretty much always under 10 hours. Turning the new one into a gear based level system with varying difficulty of enemies, some open world roaming (there's actually VERY little of this though), and optional content that adds an extra 30% to the games playtime is why it's WAY longer than any of the other ones which were just run from point a to point b killing everything in your path.

I was also way off on my time for the first RDR, I was looking at some completionist times before, the average play-time for the first one was actually under 20 hours (around 18), with people like me finishing it in 12-14. I'd love for RDR2 to be longer, but 30 is probably a best case scenario for 100% completion (unless they add in some super tedious achievements). Hoping I'm wrong, and regardless of total time, this game is going to be awesome. I have high hopes and I'm sure I'll love it, I'm just going to mildly upset if it's a game that I crush in a day or two without even putting a ton of time in.
