Phil Spencer has just announced a new subscription based system through Microsoft similar to EA Access. For $9.99 a month you will be able to download and own 100's of current and last gen games. That's a pretty big power move.

To own or through the subscription?
Ex, subscription lapses do you still have the games?
Seems weird to directly go against Games with Gold.

Basically rental through subscription. The games aren't even permanent they are rotating on a monthly basis. Says people with pass can buy Game/DLC at discount before it's rotated off.

Too bad there are only 4 games announced for the start and they're all old games relatively. Not sure about this service, might be as dumb as PS Now.

"Today, we’re continuing our commitment to give you more options to diversify and expand your library of games with Xbox Game Pass, a new gaming subscription service coming later this spring. Xbox Game Pass gives you unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 games – all for $9.99 per month."

Luckily it let's you download the games instead of stream them like the shitty PS Now. Also, members will get discounts on buying games and their respective dlc, so if you play something you like and want to own it forever, there's that.

Sign me up, I see it as the Netflix of gaming. Let's me try a bunch of content and it rotates as to not get stale and keep my money coming. I have a bunch of games I bought at full price, played the shit out of for a month and now collect dust as I moved on. This seems like a great alternative to that, depending on what content they have available.

It's severely dependent on the games offering. If it's small, it won't be worth $9.99 monthly.

Where did you read that it rotates every month?
