Going to be buying an XB1 tomorrow and considering buying the elite controller as well. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this controller? I've never used any form of "custom" controller before, but feel the ability to customize button mapping / trigger sensitivity along with the new dpad is worth the money, regardless of whether or not i use the additional 4 paddle buttons. Anyone own this controller? Pros / cons?

Also, the 4 paddles can be removed and just used as a normal controller as well? Or do the buttons underneath get in the way?

Honestly depends what games you'll be playing

The paddles are GG if you play fps where you like to jump around (lotta people do it on halo/over watch)

As for button mapping you can do that from the Xbox settings with any controller

I have a couple friends that have them and they really like then, so I say if you got the extra money go for it

I ordered it when I ordered the console + games at best buy. If I don't like it I'll just return it I guess xD Extra weight may end up bothering me, will see!

I used a friends and I like it but I am not an Xbox guy. Paddles do come off. His criticism is that the housing for the analog sticks crack easily.

My bet is once you get used to it you will never go back.

Enjoy!

If you play fps and don't like/can't play claw.... elite is the way to go

Didn't know what claw grip was... now I do, no way is that happening xD

I'm sure I'll like the elite as long as the weight doesn't bother me / the paddles aren't in the way when I don't want to use them whether on or off.

Get the best buy extended warranty on it. I've had mine for a few months and love it. Much better feel then a regular controller. Paddles come off and it comes with extra sticks. It's also got great grip and the trigger stops are amazing for games that they work for. The controller isn't straight plastic like the regular controllers it has like a rubberish grip all around it. It also comes with a travel case which is pretty nice. Definitely recommend it if you have the extra money to spend. The paddles are amazing and make things so much more convenient. A regular controller feels awkward in my hands now since I believe the elite is slightly beefier. It also comes with a cable so you won't need batteries or a charge kit if you choose as well as the ability to dim the light of the Xbox logo which saves a little bit of battery life if your using batteries.

The best buy extended warranty is amazing and let's you return it for another as long as it's before the 2 years is up and you can just renew it. I only got that warranty because you never know something could happen and it's nice to have the protection.
