So I just picked up witcher 3 with seasons pass as it was on sale. I never played 1, and got 2 free with gold a while back. Put about 10-12 hours into it and really enjoyed it, and then got caught up in other stuff and never revisited. Shame on me, I know.

I'm curious if I will need to know much of the backstory for 3. I have done a bit of searching and it doesn't seem like it's necessary, may watch a few lore/story videos to catch up before I dive in, any advice?
