My astro A40's will not allow me to talk. I also have 2 pairs and 2 xbox's so I know its not my hardware

Had the same problem today, go to your controller settings and "register" your controller to your gamertag

Not sure what you mean by this. Astro a40s have their own adaptor that attaches to the controller

Also to clarify this started with the next Xbox update before they worked perfectly
